1996 IEEE President Wallace Stanley (Wally) Read receives the IEEE
Charles Proteus Steinmetz Award from 2002 IEEE President Ray Findlay
during the IEEE Standards Association Award Ceremony in December 2005.
Wally donated half of the $10,000 cash prize to each of two of his favourite
IEEE entities - the IEEE Canadian Foundation and the IEEE History Center.
The citation reads "for sustained leadership in organizing IEEE standards
activities to be responsive to industry and the global market place.

Scholarship from Foundation President Bob Alden at the Ryerson Awards
ceremony for Electrical and Computer Engineering on November 23.

Past Foundation President Miro Forest receives IEEE Canada's highest award for service, the "W.S. Read Outstanding Service Award" from Wally Read at the October 22 IEEE Toronto Section Annual General Meeting. The citation reads "for significant and sustained leadership over two decades as director and president of the IEEE Canadian Foundation and its predecessor organization, IEEC Inc.".

Foundation Treasurer Luc Matteau attends the annual IEEE Canada Student Branch Training Workshop held this year in Vancouver, September 15 - 18, 2005. The IEEE Canadian Foundation supports this workshop financially, and Luc participates to help explain how Canadian students and student branches can apply for grants from the foundation. Steven Seegar of Queen's University received an IEEE Canadian Foundation
Scholarship presented by Foundation President Bob Alden at the 50th
Anniversary Banquet of the Kingston Section. Bob also presented a framed
photograph of General McNaughton to the Queen's University Student Branch -
Stephen Seegar accepted as the branch chair.

| The Annual Membership meeting is held on April 5 and;
- receives the President's annual report describing progress over
the past year and plans for the future
- receives the report of the Grants committee summarizing that in 2004,
the IEEE Canadian Foundation
- awarded 7 Scholarships, 3 Learning Centre Upgrade Grants,
6 Special Grants, and one Vehicular Technology Travel Grant - totaling $51,622.
- re-elects current directors Bob Alden and David Whyte, whose terms are
expiring
- elects Ossama Iskandar and Ray Findlay to replace Tom Purdy and Miro Forest
as directors for three-year terms
