Success Stories - Laval University Robocup 2005 Competition
Back success stories

The Laval University Robocup Team participated in the American robotic soccer competition, April 20 to 23, 2005 in Atlanta on Georgia Tech campus. At this occasion, four undergraduate students represented Université Laval (left to right): Pierre Morency (4th year student in computer engineering), Benoît Bergeron (2nd year student in computer engineering), Jonathan Trottier-Delorme (3rd year student in computer science) et Alexandre Larouche (4th year student in computer engineering). The Laval University Team won third place, after MIT & Harvard in first place and Carnegie Mellon University in second place.

The team from Quebec City performed well by demonstrating a functional system and remarquable improvement from last year. Our team made a good fight against MIT & Harvard by loosing 1-0 and 2-0 during two bouts. It is very probable that the Université Laval becomes of a caliber sufficient to participate in world competitions with two years.

Thanks to all those who contributed to our success.

Sincerely,
Pierre Morency
President of the Robocup Laval group
