The Investment Advisory Committee consists of the three investment specialists
whose biographies appear below as well as the president and treasurer as
ex-officio members.
Michael J. Sosa - Chair, is Staff Director of IEEE Investment Management
Services. He has managed assets for the IEEE for 26 years with an
average return of 9.77% with only 4 out of 26 years having a negative
return. The 4 negative years averaged just 2.7%. Mike managed IEEE
Foundation assets for the last 5 years with an average return of 13.7%.
Mike has a BBA and MBA from Pace University, a Futures & Options
Certification from Northwestern University, a credit in the Certified
Financial Planning Program from Kaplan College, and a Certified
Investment Management Consultant designation from Wharton School of
Business. He is registered as an Investment Advisor and Security agent
under FINRA (formerly NASD) and SEC and maintains series 6, 7 and 66
securities licenses. Mike has a CSA (certified senior advisor)
designation, and a CRFA (certified retirement financial advisor)
designation. He has memberships in Natl Assoc of Cash Mgrs/Natl Assoc.
of Accountants/Investment Management Consultant; Assoc./International
Assoc. of Certified Financial Planners/Financial Institute of Fixed
Income; Analyst/Assoc. of Financial Professionals/Whos Who in
Finance/Society of Certified Senior Advisors.
James J. Cronin, CFA, is Vice President, USB Financial Services with
responsibilities to advise, consult and manage client portfolios. His
client base includes institutional and high net worth individuals. He
manages $50 million in assets. He designed and launched Socially
Responsible Investment Equity Index Fund for non]profits. His equity
showcase (model) portfolio exceeall domestic equity benchmarks for one
year and five year periods (2002 to 2007.) He has 40 years of investment
analysis and management experience.
James has a BA from Iona College in 1968 and an MBA from Fordham
University in 1972. Prior to joining USB in 1997, he was president and
chief financial officer of Murray United Development Corp. from 1991
where he raised capital and worked with the Board of Directors and
investors to develop the companyfs embryonic technology.
Frederick L. Muller, CFA, a founder of Chatham Capital Group,
focuses on investment strategy and portfolio management at the firm.
Previously, Ted was with Atlanta Capital Management from 1972 to 1996
where he was President and CEO. After selling the firm in 1990 to Hill
Samuel Investment Management of London, he served on its Board that had
the responsibility of overseeing globally invested assets of over $35
billion. Ted managed IEEE investments from 1972 to 1992 and then served as
Chairman of the IEEE Investment Committee for 10 years.
Ted earned a B.A. degree in English from the University of Pennsylvania
and afterwards served as a U.S. Naval Officer at sea and in intelligence
in Washington. He obtained an M.B.A. degree in Finance from George
Washington University while completing active duty. He holds the
Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a past Chair of the CFA
Institute that has recognized him with four of its highest professional
awards. Ted serves on the Board of DBT Holding Company and is a trustee
of The Savannah Country Day School.
