Technical References

The McNaughton center here at Concordia houses shelves and shelves of technical references in several fields covered by the IEEE. Throughout the years, this mini-library has been growing in size as a storehouse of technical references, covering subjects from the introduction to the principles of circuits to detailed data on internals of a particular electronic component used in consumer electronics device to software engineering design practices. These references provide members with useful information (and encouragement to people who aren't members to become members) in subjects covered by the fields of electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering and computer science. There's also the occasional oddball book, like organic chemistry!

The documents are grouped into different categories and formats: journals, magazines, data books, textbooks, papers and IEEE publications.

The library, which is without any doubt comprehensive in its own right, makes the office not only a place for social activities, enabling people to meet, to rest, to contemplate, but also a place for intellectuals to explore the abundance of knowledge! These valuable resources, which are available to only members, show the effort by the IEEE to ensure that its members enjoy the advantages of being part of the organization. Ultimately, it encourages the pursuit of knowledge, which promotes the enrichment of mind. This is also one of the essential parts of the IEEE Concordia and the McNaughton center's goal --- our aim to provide services to Concordia students and promote the dissemination of technical knowledge. In short, it represents the commitment that the IEEE has to its members.
