On-line Nomination Process for an
IEEE Canadian Foundation Scholarship

This scholarship is intended to encourage awareness of and participation in the educational programs supported by the IEEE. It is intended to pay a major portion of the final year tuition fees and related academic expenses of a student who has demonstrated a previous commitment to the IEEE McNaughton Learning Resource Centre and related IEEE activities, and who indicates a desire to continue this activity. Currently, there are two scholarship values (either $3500 or $1750) to acknowledge that engineering program fees are generally higher than those for technology programs.

The nominee must be a student member of IEEE, in a Canadian IEEE student branch with an active IEEE McNaughton Learning Resource Centre, registered in his or her penultimate year, has been active in the centre for a minimum of one year, and has prepared a report on her or his activities.

The report by the scholarship nomineee must be accompanied by the nomination from the student branch counsellor. If you are using the on-line forms (links below), both forms must be submitted before the deadline, otherwise the nomination will not be considered.

The links below are to the two on-line forms:
  • Please complete this report form if you are the student nominee.
  • Please complete this nomination form if you are the branch counsellor.

The IEEE Canadian Foundation wishes to thank branch counsellors, department chairs, and faculty deans for their support of all the students in electrical, electronics, and computer engineering who become active in the IEEE as students in preparation for their professional life.

The IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) is a technical and professional institute with about 350,000 members in approximately 150 countries. Students comprise about 50,000 of these members. The IEEE includes 35 or so technical speciality societies that includes computer, communications, and power engineering (the three largest) as well as electron devices, implications of technology, ....

The IEEE Canadian Foundation has supported the establishment of over 25 McNaughton Centres across Canada - more information is available on this web site.
