IEEE Canadian Foundation Québec Science Fair Prizes

General   Two prizes each year, value $750 each, given for projects presented at the Quebec final of Expo-sciences Bell.
                  Prix IEEE Shoaib A. Khan - $750 for a project in electricity or electronics
                  Prix IEEE Eloi Ngandui - $750 for a project in computing

Background   These prizes are sponsored by the MCI (Montreal Conferences Inc.) fund which was established following the joining together of MCI and the IEEE Canadian Foundation.   This continues one type of activity formally carried on by MCI in the Montreal area prior to the disolution of MCI as a corporation of the IEEE Montreal Section.   The two prizes are named to honour the memory of two electrical engineers who were very active and respected members of the IEEE in Quebec - details.

Purpose   To generate interest for IEEE's technical areas in high school students in Quebec by awarding prizes for project excellence.  

Eligibility and Basis of Selection   As determined by the organizers and judges of the "Expo-sciences Bell" science fair.

Payment   Payment will be made directly to the individual at the science fair.

Certificate   A certificate will be presented to the prize winner by a representative of the IEEE Montreal Section at the awards ceremony of the science fair.

Dates and Location   The 2005 science fair was held on April 21 to 24 at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières
The Super Expo-sciences Bell, 2006 Quebec Final will be held from April 20 to 23, 2006 at the Centre culturel of the Université de Sherbrooke.
