David Gregson SM IEEE
Victoria, British Columbia, Canada
David has been a member of IEEE for over 25 years. He has served in
various positions within the Victoria Section of the IEEE and is
currently section chair. He has been actively involved in the
organization of numerous IEEE sponsored conferences and workshops
including treasurer of the first Canadian Conference of Electrical and
Computer Engineering and the first Pacific Rim Conference on Computers,
Communications and Signal Processing. He has also been involved in the
development of a series of IEEE standards for the rail transit industry
and is currently secretary of the Rail Transit Vehicle Interface
Standards Committee.
David is a graduate of the University of Victoria with a Masters of
Applied Science Degree. His recent professional activities include lead
roles in the design and production of numerous Monitoring and Diagnostic
Systems for rail transit vehicles. Prior to becoming involved in rail
transit systems he was involved in embedded hardware and software design
with a focus on data acquisition and data telemetry systems in
aeronautical, marine and industrial environments.
David was elected to the IEEE Canadian Foundation as a member in 2007 and to
the board of directors in 2008.
